Ben Taylor

Vice President of Sales & Development

Ben Taylor is the Vice President of Sales and Development for FJR Commercial, where he supports all major transactions and leads capital improvement planning, engineering coordination, and technical execution across the firm’s real estate portfolio and that of it’s partners. Known for his ability to translate complex technical details into clear development and investment strategy, Ben works closely with building owners, tenants, capital partners, architects, contractors, and public agencies to ensure projects move efficiently from concept to completion.

A registered Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Kentucky, Ben holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Kentucky. He began his career at a national consulting engineering firm specializing in high-performance building design, sustainable systems, geothermal technology, and solar energy. During this time, he supported clients in higher education, healthcare, government, and food service, sharpening his technical expertise and project management capabilities.

Driven to be involved in the full real estate lifecycle, Ben transitioned into development with a regional firm, where he oversaw engineering coordination, infrastructure planning, financial analysis, capital-partner communication, and third-party construction management He played a key role in more than $150 million of building and infrastructure development throughout Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana, contributing to major industrial, commercial, and mixed-use projects, which in 2025 earned him the recognition as one of 20 People to Know in Real Estate

Ben is known for his detail-oriented, process-driven approach which balancing his engineering background with practical real world applications. His experience spans site design, cost modeling, permitting, contract negotiation, and managing complex stakeholder groups.

Beyond his work at FJR, Ben is committed to community service and professional development. He serves on the Nativity Academy Board of Directors as a member of the Facilities Committee, contributes to the Home of the Innocents Business Development Committee, volunteers with Saint Xavier High School, and participates in the ACE Mentorship Program, supporting the next generation of architecture, construction, and engineering students.

Outside the office, Ben enjoys spending time with his wife and two young children and staying active outdoors.
